© Matthew2535 Inc. |
Matthew2535, Inc. is a
non-profit organization registered with the Florida Department of State. Matthew2535,
Inc.
is also recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization by the IRS, as a non-profit charitable organization. The organization
is also registered with the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer
Services.
The
directors of Matthew2535, Inc. are volunteers, and receive no salary
or in-kind reimbursements for any services rendered. Matthew2535, Inc.
requests donations in the form of clothing, food, basic necessities, and
other material items. Matthew2535, Inc. also seeks donations which are
monetary in nature; however, monies which are contributed to the
ministry are used primarily to purchase food, clothing, and other items
related to the needs of the homeless.
In its formative period the directors and volunteers of
Matthew2535, Inc. attempted as much as possible to individually supply
the resources needed to establish the ministry and provide for the needs of
the homeless. Items which were often
not provided through donations - socks, toothpaste, razors,
hats, sunglasses, undergarments, etc. - were purchased by the
directors and volunteers.
In the fall of
2004, a fundraiser to support the ministry was conducted, and that
fundraiser in conjunction with a matching grant by Thrivent Financial for
Lutherans provided funding which enabled Matthew2535 to: (1)
purchase needed non-donated items, and; (2) expand the ministry via the
purchase of a used 37' RV, which is utilized in the delivery of food,
clothing, and other essentials to the homeless.
The ongoing services provided
by Matthew2535 are only made possible by contributions from individuals,
churches, and businesses. Matthew2535 receives no government funding at an
level. The ministry believes that an effort to eliminate homelessness in our
community can best be accomplished through those who feel that helping the
homeless and needy is a God-given directive.
